Ready to book your tour? Fill out our Tour Request Form here and allow up to 5-10 business days to receive a response from us to continue booking your request.
Please be advised that submitting a request form does not guarantee your tour booking or preferred dates and times. We always try our best to accommodate, but our large influx of tour requests greatly impacts our ability to do so.
Tour requests are viewed from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday.

School Tours
The Children’s Museum at La Habra is an ideal destination for a school field trip! Basic Tours are $8 per person and Discovery Tours are $10 per person. Our staff led Museum tours offer an experience that compliments classroom learning and bridges the Museum and your classroom curriculum.
With the assistance of a Museum Tour Guide, students will learn more about the various hands-on galleries including science, performing arts, transportation and much more during their visit.
Advance reservations are required for groups of 15 or more children.

Basic Group Tour Details
- $8 per person
- Tours last 90 minutes (there is a 5 minute orientation).
- A Museum Docent will lead your group through the Museum galleries.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled time. Late arrivals will miss part of their tour.
- It is expected that your chaperones will actively participate with the students during your visit.
- Re-entry is not allowed except for bathroom breaks and Gift Shop visits.

- $10 per person
- Discovery Tours are STEM-themed museum experiences that align with specific core standards. Each tour consists of a 60-minute guided tour through museum galleries, then concludes with a grade-appropriate, 30-minute hands-on activity.

Group Tour Guidelines
- Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
- Minimum number of people per time slot: 15 (includes children, adults and strollers).
- Maximum number of people per time slot: 35 (includes children, adults and strollers.
- If your group exceeds 35, you must make an advanced reservation for an additional tour time.
- A Waiver of Release & Liability form (PDF) must be filled out for EVERY child prior to field trip. Spanish liability form (PDF).
- Group discount only applies to pre-scheduled guided tours.
- Tours are available Tuesday through Friday, between 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Your reservation is guaranteed with a confirmation letter or email.
Payment Policy
We require a $105 non-refundable deposit per tour group to secure your reservation. Deposit can be paid by check, cash, or MasterCard/Visa. Please send your check to the Children’s Museum at La Habra. Please include group name and trip date with deposit. Balance of admission is due on date of tour. If we do not receive your deposit, your reservation will be cancelled.
Cancellation
Deposits are Nonrefundable. If a cancellation is made 14 days before the date of your tour, your deposit may be applied to a future tour within 1 year of the tour date. For cancellations made less than 14 days before the date of your tour, or for no-shows, your deposit can not be reapplied to a future tour.
Nontours
Walk-in groups of 10 or more are asked to have a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children. Group discount only applies to pre-scheduled guided tours. Please note the museum schedules up to 8 daily tours. We require a $180 non-refundable deposit to secure your reservation. Deposit can be paid by check, cash, or MasterCard/Visa. Please send your check to the Children’s Museum at La Habra.
- How long is each tour?

Basic and Discovery Tours are both 90 minutes long. Our Basic Tour includes a guided tour by one of our trained staff members through 5 galleries. Our Discovery Tour include a 60 minute guided gallery tour, followed by a 30 minute STEM themed hands-on activity.
- When do tours start?

Tours run in increments of 30 minutes. We begin tours at 9:00 a.m. followed by 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- How many guests can I bring?

Our maximum capacity is 35 guests in total, which includes both children and adults. If your group exceeds 35 guests, please be aware that you will need to book additional tours to accommodate your numbers.
- What do we do during the 30 minute stretch if we have multiple tours?

The Children's Museum is attached to Portola Park. We have a large grass area right outside the Museum, as well as a public playground behind the building where the students can play or eat a snack/lunch. This is also a wonderful time to take photos by our Dino Garden or the front of the Museum. Additionally, we offer Tour Add-On's at an additional cost, which provide a 30 minute activity that aligns with any of our tours.
- Do you offer additional activities?

We offer 3 fun STEM related Tour Add-On's. Each activity is 30 minutes and is led by a museum staff member. Tour add-on's are fun and educational activities that connect with any one of our tour themes.
- Planting 101: Includes a brief lesson on the importance of planting native plants and what pollinators do for our planet. The students plant their own seed in a biodegradable, earth friendly paper pulp pot. The cost is $5.00 per student.
- Animal Track Mold Making: Students will make an animal track using plaster and water. Animal tracks are a wonderful tool for learning about mysterious wildlife. The cost is $5.00 per student.
- Mobile Museum: Mobile Museum is a STEM based activity. We have a rigamajig builder kit, a large magnetic wall with ramps and balls, a rainbow pegboard and water table. The students use these tools to engineer their designs. Mobile Museum promotes creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skill. The cost is $3.00 per student.
- Is there a place where we can eat lunch or snack?

We do not allow food or drinks inside the Museum. However, we are attached to Portola Park with a number of picnic tables available for your group to use.
- What happens if its raining during my scheduled tour?

We do our best to accommodate classrooms. We close our Family Art Center to the public and use it as a waiting area for your group.
- If I need to cancel my tour, do I get my deposit back?

Unfortunately no. We require a non-refundable deposit in order to hold your group's spot.
