March 2013 Update
The Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) committees developed a preliminary traffic calming plan for their particular neighborhoods.
The next step in the process is the determination of plan support by each neighborhood. The committees will make the presentation of the traffic calming plans to their respective neighborhoods for review and comment. Staff anticipates that the neighborhood meetings will be scheduled in April / May 2013.
Based on the comments received, the plans will be refined as necessary. Subsequently, a neighborhood survey will be distributed to the residents of each neighborhood to determine support for the plan. The required neighborhood support is a minimum response rate of 50%, with an approval rate of 67%. If these thresholds are satisfied, then the City Council will consider plan implementation, which includes approval of the traffic management plans, design and construction of improvements, and traffic monitoring.
